The Sony J-30 SDI deck is a favorite for production companies digitizing BetaSP or Digibeta into their Final Cut Pro ( FCP ) or Avid. The deck is incredibly user-friendly and works with a single firewire cable for hookup.

Insurance/Deposit

The deck needs to be covered by insurance OR full deposit of $12,000 (in the form of a credit card).Once we have the insurance or collateral covered, we can send you the rental agreement.

Using the insurance method of coverage

It's usually pretty easy to modify your company insurance or even home owner's policy for the coverage. Once we confirm the deck is available on your desired date, we will send you information about how to adjust your insurance policy to cover the deck.

Additional options to having your basic home-owner or company policy expanded for this short-term coverage, there are also several third party equipment insurers who provide this service.

Using the credit card deposit method of coverage

We can pre-authorize a $12,000 charge on a credit card in lieu of an insurance policy. The card is not actually charged once the deck has been satisfactorily returned.

Alternative methods of coverage

If insurance coverage or collateral is not possible, there are two more ways you can get your material digitized:

Attended Rental

A representative from our company attends the deck while in use at the additional rate of $25/hr or $150/day (8 hours). No need for insurance or collateral with this option.

Transfer to MiniDV tape

We can dub the digibeta or beta SP footage to mini DV digital tape for $40/per half hour or increment thereof. Then it can be imported by an everyday camcorder via firewire into your system . In other words, no deck rental is required.

Transfer to hard drive (Mac only)

We can dub the digibeta footage to hard drive and deliver it to your system for $80 per half hour or increment thereof.
