Sony J30/SDI - 1/2" standard definition compact player
The compact design makes the J-30 ideal for personal, desk-top use. It has all the features required for viewing, logging and feeding material to a non-linear editing system such as Final Cut Pro ( FCP ) and Avid. The Sony J30 SDI Compact Player can play Digital Betacam, MPEG IMX, Betacam SX, Betacam SP and Betacam tapes and has i-Link, analogue composite and component, S-VHS and analog audio outputs. It accommodates both the large and small videocassettes.
Excellent Source for non-linear editing systems
RS-422 remote control and SDI outputs are provided for use with logging and non-linear editing systems. An i.Link interface is also included to feed 25Mb/s DV-based editors. Remote control of the J-30/SDI by the editor via i.Link is also supported.
The J-30/SDI video outputs are SDI, i.Link, composite and S-VHS. Audio output is RCA unbalanced, XLR (balanced) or via the i.Link (firewire) or SDI outputs.
Playback of Digital Betacam, MPEG IMX, Betacam SX, Betacam SP and Betacam tapes
During cassette loading the tape format is identified automatically.
Playback of large or small Betacam cassettes
The J-30/SDI can replay both small and large cassettes. This provides a replay time of over 3 hours from Betacam SX and MPEG IMX tapes.
Metadata enabled
The J-30/SDI can read UMID (Unique Material Identifier) data from tape. This data assigns a unique ID to a video clip or sequence, and makes it easier to locate material during production or after archival. MSW-M2000P/1 Series MPEG IMX recorders can generate and store UMID on MPEG IMX tape, and these tapes can be replayed by the J-30/SDI. The UMID can also be output from the J-30/SDI via SDI for content tracking during subsequent processing.
Timecode output
External equipment can be locked to the timecode output of the J-30/SDI using the BNC connector on the rear panel. |
